100 per cent compostable without residuals, this is the outstanding characteristic of the new GREENFIELDS^® mulch fleece PLA 150, produced since last year from IGG, International Geotextil GmbH. It is the first mulch product on the German market, which is flat, can be rolled out and is composed of 100 per cent out of renewable resources.

PLA 150 offers the same positive qualities as mechanically solidified needle fleece as e.g. high water and air permeability, high tensile strength and breaking elongation. It is flame resistant and UV stable for years.

PLA 150 is composed of 100 per cent PLA fibers (Poly Lactic Acid) and with its viability from three to six years, it has the same characteristics as the usual fleece but is environment friendly. The so-called “Organic mulch fleece” consist of 100 per cent polypropylene and are always UV stabilized and non-perishable.

Besides its complete biodegradability, PLA 150 has the advantage to have a low weight and a solid and steady structure. In comparison to conventional coco mats or PE-mats the weight has been reduced to 60 per cent. The fleece can be easily processed: you need no more than a household scissors and the HASTEC^® wire straps DBU 230 to fix it.
